Volleyful Guidelines

Welcome to Volleyful! Our mission is to provide competitive, well-organized, and enjoyable volleyball experiences built on both quality of play and quality of character. To maintain a strong, consistent, high-level community, Volleyful is an invitation-only platform, helping ensure balanced games, positive interactions, and a respectful environment.

All users may invite friends to join the app, but access does not guarantee signup availability.

Signing Up for a Game

  1. You will receive an SMS alert with a signup link.
  2. Review event details and RSVP via the link. If the game is full, you may join the waitlist.
  3. Some games enforce systems (5–1 or 6–2).
    • Events will list the remaining available positions.
    • You are not strictly required to pick from those positions, but out of respect for earlier RSVPs, please choose an open position or consider registering for a future game if your preferred role is full.
  4. Follow the provided instructions to pay the court fee.
  5. Any time-sensitive event updates and reminders will be sent out via SMS.

Inviting a Friend

  1. Request to Invite a Friend on the game page.
  2. A host will review your request based on roster balance, skill fit, and positional needs.
  3. If approved, you'll receive a unique link via text to share with your friend.
  4. Their spot is not guaranteed until they RSVP and pay the court fee.

Quality of Play & Quality of People

Volleyful values not only high-level volleyball, but also high-quality teammates and community members. After each game, please consider using the Honor System and Reporting System to highlight outstanding teammates and maintain our culture.

The Honor System

Recognize players who elevate the experience for everyone.

These are the honors you can give:

  • Good communication
  • Positivity & good vibes
  • 100% effort & hustle
  • Teamwork & inclusive play

The Reporting System

Report behaviors that violate community standards. All reports are anonymous.

Reportable behaviors include:

  1. Unsportsmanlike or lacking integrity – arguing calls, not calling their own faults.
  2. Disrespectful or toxic language/behavior – insults, hostility, or creating a negative atmosphere.
  3. Reliability issues – late arrivals, no-shows, or last-minute cancellations without securing a sub.
  4. Reckless or dangerous play – actions that risk injury or show disregard for others' safety.
  5. Disruptive or ball-hogging behavior – consistently overriding teammates, ignoring positions, or disrupting gameplay.
  6. Backseating or over-cueing - excessive, unsolicited instruction or micromanagement during play.

Consistent feedback from multiple players triggers a progressive consequence system:

1. Warning → 2. Temporary Ban → 3. Removal from the community
